This study calculated, analyzed, and summarized drug discovery parameters of essential oil components (EOCs) obtained from a set of commercially available essential oils. Then the lead- and drug-likeness of these EOCs were evaluated using JChem from ChemAxon, a widely accepted cheminformatics software package in drug discovery. The Rule of Three DDF was used to test if some EOCs would be potential candidates for fragment-based drug discovery. Those results were then compared to DrugBank’s approved drugs and the study’s EO set.
